Comparative Anatomy and Pathology of the Rodent and Human Brain

March 6 - 8, 2023

Registration deadline: February 27, 2023

Venue: Section Clinical neuroanatomy, Neurology, Center for Biomedical Research (ZBF), Helmholtzstr. 8/1, 89081 Ulm

Topics: The goal of the course is to compare pathologic alterations found in experimental rodent models of neurodegenerative diseases with the pathology in the human brain. Participants are encouraged to bring histological sections from their own experiments and rodent models to the course for discussion (2 weeks notice required). Overview of the anatomy of the rodent and human brain and spinal cord; hands-on-lab sessions for introduction into neuroanatomical techniques to study the human brain; pathological neuroanatomy of neurodegenerative disorders including but not limited to Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

Organisation and registration: Prof. Dr. Deniz Yilmazer-Hanke, phone (office): +49 (0)731 500 63157, phone (lab): +49 (0)731/500 63158, email: deniz.yilmazer-hanke@uni-ulm.de
