Final Call: Deadline for Symposia Proposal TODAY - Göttingen Meeting 2027

Only few hours left to take the opportunity to shape the Scientific Program of the Göttingen Meeting 2027 by submitting your proposal until:

17 February 2026 

The Göttingen Meeting of the Neuroscience Society is held every two years in the tradition of the Göttingen Neurobiology Meeting alternating with the FENS Forum. The next one, the 17th, will take place from 17 to 19 March 2027.

NWG members and all interested neuroscientists are invited to submit proposals for symposia from all areas of neuroscience. 

Symposium proposers should consider the following:

The symposium proposal must contain:

• The title of the symposium
• The name of the organizer(s)
• A short description of the symposium
• The name and address of each of the four intended speakers
• The titles (tentative) of the talks

The organizers must adhere to the following rules:

• The symposia are self-supporting, the German Neuroscience Society cannot guarantee financial support. In addition, the symposium speakers and organizers will have to pay registration fee.
• Organizers who organized a symposium in 2025 already are not entitled to submit a proposal for 2027.
• Speakers who gave a talk in 2025 already are not entitled to be speaker in 2027 again (see Proceedings 2025).
• The title of the symposium should be succinct and not exceed 100 characters including spaces.
• A short description of the planned symposium in English, which should not exceed 5.000 characters including spaces, is required.
• The members of the program committee may speak in a symposium but are not entitled to propose a symposium as sole organizers.
• The time allocated to each symposium is 2 hours.
• The maximum number of speakers per symposium is four. Please note that speakers are selected on the basis of gender equality and that the affiliations of the symposium must include at least two different institutions. The complete address and the (tentative) title of each speaker is mandatory.
• The maximum number of Speakers per symposium is five. Please note that one of the speakers must be an early-career scientist, the speakers are selected on the basis of gender equality, and the symposium must include affiliations from at least two different institutions. The complete address and the (tentative) title of each speaker is mandatory.
