The International Graduate School of Neuroscience (IGSN) offers an English language PhD programme in all aspects of neuroscience from the molecular level to higher cognitive functions.
The IGSN was founded in October 2001 as an initiative of the Northrhine-Westfalian government to provide a forum for PhD candidates with superior academic track records. The IGSN offers an international network of renowned scientists, world leading supervisors and provides an excellent scientific environment.
The IGSN provides PhD researchers with a comprehensive and multidisciplinary research training programme in molecular, systems, cognitive, clinical, and computational neuroscience. A key goal of the IGSN is to give PhD researchers the opportunity to conduct high level research in a nurturing educational environment, that equips them to work in a multidisciplinary manner in the neuroscience field.
A fast-track international PhD in Neuroscience (completed within 3 years) together with additional training in management and complementary skills is aimed to produce a new generation of young neuroscientists that can compete at the highest level, both professionally and internationally.
