Description:

The intricate development and function of dopamine neurons have become a focal point in neuroscience research, especially with the growing interest in generating dopaminergic neurons for cell replacement therapies in Parkinson’s disease. Recent advancements in creating human dopaminergic neurons and brain organoids are opening new avenues for understanding the mechanisms underlying the development and maintenance of the human dopaminergic system. To further these goals, it is crucial to integrate neurodevelopmental research, sophisticated approaches for dissecting complex neuronal networks, and cutting-edge pluripotent stem cell technologies.
The 2nd edition of the “Development of the Dopaminergic System: From Stem Cells to Circuits” conference, scheduled for May 24-27, 2025, in Crete, promises an exciting and diverse scientific program. The conference will spotlight recent advances and future directions in developmental neuroscience, particularly focusing on the midbrain dopaminergic system. The goal of the workshop is to inspire young researchers and to grow a network of interactions and collaborations to push the boundaries of research in the field of dopaminergic neuron development, circuitry, and function in the healthy and diseased brain.
This meeting provides a unique opportunity to join a growing network of researchers dedicated to advancing our understanding of the biology of dopaminergic neurons.

Date and Location: May 24-27, 2025 in Crete.
