The German Neuroscience Society awarded the Otto Loewi Medal for the second time at this year’s annual meeting. The recipient, who was honored both for his exceptional commitment to the Society and for his significant contributions to science, is Prof. Dr. Eckart D. Gundelfinger
For many years, Eckart Gundelfinger has been an internationally leading scientist in the field of the molecular organization of synapses. His particular research interests include the presynaptic cytomatrix, the mechanisms of synaptic plasticity, and the pathophysiology of synapses in the context of psychiatric and neurological disorders. Many of his groundbreaking studies have emerged from interdisciplinary collaborations with leading researchers in Germany and around the world. The Neuroscience Society extends its heartfelt congratulations and is delighted to have such loyal, dedicated members who embody a true passion for science as Eckart Gundelfinger. |
