jNWGs Christmas Event

Join us for the annual jNWG Christmas Event with Dr. Georg Keller on Zoom!

jNWG is excited to invite you to our 3rd Christmas event, starting our upcoming web series: BrainTalks by jNWG.

We're delighted to introduce our guest speaker, Dr. Georg Keller, from the Friedrich Miescher Institute for Biomedical Research.

Predictive Processing: A Circuit Approach to Psychosis

Thursday, December 7th 2023

 6:00 p.m.

Dr Keller will share insights into his remarkable journey to becoming a distinguished group leader. Additionally, he will present his groundbreaking research on cortical computations.

Here's a sneak peek into what you can expect from his talk:

Predictive processing is a computational framework that aims to explain how the brain processes sensory information by making predictions about the environment and minimizing prediction errors. It can also be used to explain some of the key symptoms of psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia. In recent years, substantial advances have been made in our understanding of the neuronal circuitry that underlies predictive processing in cortex. In my talk I will try to provide a brief overview of our work and progress on this.

With this event, we aim to connect young neuroscientists, discuss our challenges in science and show various career paths. This event is a unique opportunity to meet and talk with Dr Keller, getting valuable insights into different career paths and the secrets behind his rise to a group leader at the FMI.

Moreover, at our networking event, after the talk, we want to discuss and share our experiences and obstacles as young neuroscientists. Your perspectives are invaluable, and we look forward to hearing your stories.

We can´t wait to see you!

Best regards,

The jNWG Team
