The Göttingen Meeting of the German Neuroscience Society is held in spring of the odd years. Attendance amounts to 1200 to 1500 neuroscientists from Germany and abroad.
The Göttingen Meeting of the GNS covers all topics in neuroscience; results from all areas in brain research and neurobiology can be presented. The program includes keynote lectures, competitively-selected symposia and poster sessions, all complemented by satellite symposia and workshops. A large commercial exhibition with more than sixty exhibitors also complements the conference. The scientific program is set up by a program committee, comprising members of the GNS council and representatives of the local Göttingen organizing board.
Registration fees are very reasonable, encouraging student participation. Accordingly, the Göttingen meeting is traditionally a rather young meeting.
The Call for Symposia is launched in early fall of the odd years and the call for abstracts in fall of the even years before the next meeting.
