This Master program is interdisciplinary and prepares you for independent work in research. We teach molecular genetics of development, neuroscience, and behavioral biology. You may choose to focus on one of these topics or to get an overview on several topics.
Due to the involvement of many labs of the faculties of Biology and Medicine, the Max-Planck-Institutes and the German Primate Center you may choose from a broad selection of model systems like cell culture (e.g. cancer cell lines, induced stem cells), several arthropods (e.g. fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster, red flour beetle Tribolium castaneum, spider), vertebrates (frog Xenopus laevis, zebrafish Danio rerio, mouse, primates).
